Lice. One word Mothers hate to hear. Yes! No matter how creepy it sounds if your a parent you will be dealing with these little buggers soon enough.
Despite rumors/myths you have heard; that only dirty people have them, spread them or just an all around lice factory, this is not always the case. Lice can be caught from person to person no matter the gender, race, life style, dirty or clean. If you get rid of them "RIGHT" the first time you should not have any problems keeping from getting them again. UNLESS you’re not careful again. BUT, as a child, you can always get them from anyone & anywhere if your not careful.
To be honest lice really love clean, non greasy hair they can attach their little eggs too that do not slip off. If your the kind of person that uses a large amount of greasy products such as; Coconut oil (which BTW lice hate coconut) you should be good. Those of you have shiny clean hair those are the hairs you need to watch. Lice also do not live in mattresses or cloths or anything else. They can ONLY Live on a Human head. You cannot get them from animals or any other bug. Lice are human lice that live and breeds on human hair eating the scalp. They also leave little small red bumps on your scalp. This is a good indication you or your child has lice. OH and do not think you (Mom) cannot get lice, Think again. The best thing to do is treat yourself and others in your house (NO matter if they have it or not) To be safer is better then to be sorry later.
A few months ago my oldest daughter went to camp with her BFF and they caught lice there, It has been a constant battle for me during the summer. We finally got rid of them even using medicine shampoo you buy at the store, which BTW; did not work. We tried olive oil and vinegar which the vinegar helped with loosing up the nits from the hair. We finally got rid of them and I allowed her to go spend the night again at her friends for her to come back with them again and this time we where unprepared and did not realize she had them again until I noticed them again and my youngest daughter had them as well. So I jumped right onto getting rid of them which as been a process for me ever two days. Mayo, Coconut oil, Mayo, Coconut oil. So Finally NO MORE. I washed all their beds, cloths and put their stuff animals in the dryer or plastic bag. To finally we have not seen one since.
